Expert Witness

When a large airport facility raised a claim on the engineering design for their geo-exchange installation, ETA Energy Solutions was called upon to be the insurance adjuster’s expert witness. The project incorporated multiple large ground source geo-exchange fields and a complex heating and cooling design. International expert firms had taken over the design of the project from the original engineering house and had used the specialized software tool TRNSYS to justify the design modifications deemed necessary to modify the system to meet the heating and cooling loads.

Careful review of the new design was required including review of the TRNSYS model. Alternate designs would need to be similarly justified by the same thermal model in order to prove the revisions were necessary and sufficient. Few individuals or firms within Canada are qualified to undertake this project highlighting the specialized and unique skills offered by ETA Energy Solutions.
